Gary Reddick, AIA, is president of V3 Studio, an award-winning international architecture firm based in Portland, Oregon, USA.

A recognized expert in urban planning and smart growth, Gary has dedicated his career to helping build quality architecture and increase the livability of communities throughout the United States, China, and the Middle East. Reddick has used his passion for creating great communities to position his firm, V3 Studio, as a leader in urban infill design and mixed-use urban development.

Gary has been a featured speaker at the international Making Cities Livable conference, at the Congress for New Urbanism, and at the Oregon Livability conference, where he led two panels on infill and urban redevelopment. He continues to be invited across the United States to speak to planning departments and civic organizations on urban architecture and master planning, as well as guest lecturer at Harvard University Graduate School of Design, teaching summer session courses on smart growth and livability. Since 1984, he has been an adjunct professor to both the University of Oregon and Portland State University, periodically conducting design studios for undergraduates. This September, 2011, Mr. Reddick will teach a fall term Urban Planning studio and seminar focusing on China, titled “From Hutong to High-rise”

In addition to many other endeavors, Gary leads the firm’s work overseas in China, Vietnam, and Dubai, where he has traveled extensively since early 2005 on a wide variety of urban design and master planning projects. His designs, as lead designer of international design teams, have led to award of numerous international design competitions. Currently, he and his firm are the lead designers for 5 projects in China, the most notable being a new town near Qingdao, China, encompassing more than 23 million square feet of development. An Oregon native and graduate of the University of Oregon, Gary has been active in Portland, Oregon, as a civic leader, artist, and architect for over 30 years. Gary and the firm’s projects have been featured in numerous publications, including Commerce Magazine, The Urban Land Institute, the Oregonian, Architectural Record, Daily Journal of Commerce, Multi-Housing News, Northwest Home and Garden, and many others. The firm has received numerous local, regional, and national awards from the American Institute of Architecture (A.I.A.), and the Congress for New Urbanism (C.N.U.).
